Im SO excited for this new transfer!! So last Tuesday kicked off a fan-flipin-tastic week! (literally not exaggerating). We met this wonderful girl, Amanda, she is 24 years old and just the sweetest thing! She had got a hold of us early the last week and said a friend from her class introduced her to missionaries and she wanted to start the lessons in her home! She was SO prepared when we got there and wanted so badly to listen with out interruption. She had her BofM, resto pamphlet, and gospel principles book ready to go on the table. Which BTDubbs she had already read the first 9 chapters on GP book and started reading the Doctrine and Covenants... Ya she is an over achiever! We taught her a plan of salvation lesson and oh my goodness let me just say ive missed teaching so much!! With being down sick for a week and comp being sick the weeks before I forgot how amazing it felt to share this restored gospel with people. The spirit was so strong and she had this light in her eyes and i dont think i saw her smile drop once. The whole time she would say "Wow this makes more sense and feels so much better". I am so excited to see her this week and teach her some more!
Wednesday came around and we had a mission wide broadcast. It was so good! All the missionaries said that it felt like Christmas haha we get so excited hearing training's from general authorities. It was SO good!! They announced a few changes to the missionary schedule and key indicators. Our morning and study schedule are now different and it allows us to use our agency more and chose for ourselves. It is suitable world wide with the flexibility it offers. I LOVED what Elder Bednar said with this announcement, "the Church is world wide but it is not a one size fits all". How awesome and comforting is that!! The gospel is the same everywhere we go but the atonement and love it offers is so individual. We have been living the new schedule for the last few weeks (we got an early invitation to try it out) and its been great! Truly inspired.
Thursday we had an awesome lesson with a women in the ward who is inactive. We have a standing appointment with her every thursday and it started with us "practicing" our lessons on her but this lesson kind of changed that. We taught the restoration and focused on real intent. We asked a lot of inspired questions and mostly had her teach us about what real intent was. This Sisters issue has been she just doesnt feel like going to church or feels worn out so she wakes up for church then doesnt care to actually get up and get ready. It was cool is relate her to joseph smith and bare testimony on why real desire is so important in the gospel. Heavenly Feather wants us to return to Him and partake of the blessings that the gospel has to offer but more importantly He wants us to want it. Thats why He gave us agency. He wants us to feel for ourselves what life has to offer but also was eternity has to offer.  We invited her to come to a special sacrament we have coming up and she said that she does believe her desire and intent needs to change and that she will continue to have us guide her in that direction.
Saturday we decided it would be a good day to tract and find some new investigators! So we whipped out the GPS and "spirit tracted". I picked out 6 streets then individually me and sister carson picked 2 and whatever we had in common we tracted! Like spirit tracting always goes we had the 2 in common! SO we went on our way. The street though only had 3 houses... All rejections but my favorite was from this lady who brought her dog outside to do its business and i gave her our card and once she caught on she slowly walked backwards away from us and said "Im catholic...uhm good luck with your... evangelistic... walk?" and then ran to her backyard! hahah evangelistic walk?? Alright! We circled around to our car and decided to knock on this door where the glass door was showing right into the kitchen and we could see a family making dinner. We knocked and met John. After introductions he asked for us to come back and he will have us in! #spirittractinggoals
This week was full of tender mercies and LOTS of return appointments. Itll be perfect to introduce a new missionary to! Im so excited for this transfer, I know the Lord has set different things in our lives to build us up and make us better and i am grateful for those "hard missionary times" because it shows that the Lord trusts me to over come. And i get to exercise me trust in Him and my Father in Heaven.
I hope you all have a good week!!
XOXO
