Where do i even begin!? I made it to Missouri! oh meh goodness it was sooo hot when i got off the plane on tuesday! i seriously felt like a hit a wall of jacuzzi water! So hot!! but its become A LOT cooler and isnt humid anymore... its weird haha but feels nice. and guess what the first thing i saw when i got off the plane! right in front of my face in big letters "TORNADO SHELTER" haha I am definetly not in the OC anymore! I met my mission president and his wife no too long after and i can not even begin to tell you how nervous i was to meet them! the elder who sat by me on the plane was getting annoyed because i kept leaning over saying are you shaking? im shaking? what if they hate me? haha i was a hot mess. But as soon as they greeted me all those nerves went away. They are the nicest lovingest most sincere people who you could ever meet! oh boy did they make me and the other 25 other missionaries feel at home! Their home was so beautiful! and we walked in and smelled the most amazing food ever! Which was the biggest blessing of the day considering we had been traveling since 3 am that day! Everyone spent the night that night too. Well, me and Sister Oldroyd took one for the team and stayed at a hotel(; hahah there weren't enough beds for all the sisters so we went to a hotel and each got our own queen sized beds with nice big down comforters. It was miserable(; the next day we were off to meet out new companions and go to our new areas! I am with Sister Fisher now! shes adorable and canadian haha we have fun. I miss Sister Oldroyd SO stinkin much but i know that me and sister fisher are meant to be companions at this time and im excited to keep finding out why. Im in a little town called Fulton. Lots of dirt roads and lots of stray dogs and cats. hahah i was to pet all of them but sister fisher is sure to remind me of all the gross bugs that are all over them. which is good she does because i drench myself in bug spray every morning! haha im seriously a walking bug repellent stick.
Ive already given away 3 book of mormons! me and Sister Fisher are having a friendly competition as to who can give away the most book of mormons and who can get the most referrals. Im winning with book of mormons shes a head with referals. Dont worry though i still have a couple weeks to crush her! haha its fun though and makes it less scary to just walk up and talk to people. Im already like a pro at knocking doors ( well like half a pro...) we get a lot of "i got me a church" and " Im too busy" i kind of walk away laughing because im just like geez all i was trying to do was make your life a little more happy! some people say we can come back another day and we get stoked about that! the first couple days NO ONE would open their door even if we saw them inside. Then yesterday we had a pretty lucky day and got some potential investigators that we will try and see this week! Im confident in this week and think we will do good!
The ward here is little little. Its kind of funny because before i went i was told how big the ward is especially the young women! haha i showed up and was just like uhhh... but everyones personality makes up for it! they love the missionaries so much! and when i say where im from i either get a little groan or i get treated like a super star haha. Its not like the home ward but Its pretty amazing as is!
Oh guess what!! i live in an old high school! its like im living high school musical every day of my life! hahah it actaully says "high school" on the front in big letters and was built in 1913. The inside looks like a high school and our apartment is Huge! really high walls! i get my own bathroom and own walk in closet!! of course there no school desks and lockers and what not but you can tell that it was a high school. Ill try and take pictures soon.
Alright ladies and gents the moment has finally come! my new address!! please send me lots of mail! Ive never felt home sickness until i got here so i could use all the motivation i can get!! and prayers!
